My name is Jakub Woźniak and I’m a Software and Cloud Architect with over 10 years of experience, currently serving as the CTO of Software Services at Nordcloud, an IBM Company. My career has been a blend of hands-on technical expertise and strategic leadership. I specialize in cloud architecture, particularly across AWS, GCP, and Azure, where I design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions.
Beyond technical execution, my role involves guiding teams, driving innovation, and aligning technology strategies with business objectives. My expertise spans DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering, enabling organizations to achieve efficiency, reliability, and growth.
I am also a teaching assistant at Poznan University of Technology, where I contribute to educating the next generation of engineers.
In addition to my professional life, I enjoy flight simulation, sport shooting, 3D printing, microelectronics, amateur photography and crafting the perfect cup of coffee. After work you can usually find me playing some pool at a local club.

Off-site Backups from NixOS to Hetzner Storage Box with Restic
I run a small NAS at home built on NixOS and ZFS. While ZFS gives me local redundancy and snapshots, I wanted true off-site protection in case of disasters like fire, theft, or hardware failure. After evaluating a few options, I settled on Hetzner’s Storage Box: it’s affordable, reliable, and supports SFTP out of the box. Using Restic for encrypted, deduplicated backups seemed like the perfect match.
